Is EmailVerify really free?
Yes. The web app is free to use, with a limit of 500 emails per file for bulk uploads. Programmatic access is available through our API on RapidAPI, which has both free and paid tiers for higher volume.
Do you store my email list?
Uploaded files and the verified result file are stored only long enough to run the job and let you download it, then deleted automatically within a few hours. Individual results may be cached briefly to speed things up. See our Privacy Policy.
How accurate are the results?
Syntax, domain/MX, disposable and role checks are highly reliable. The live SMTP check confirms most mailboxes directly. Some providers (notably Gmail and Outlook) rate-limit or hide mailbox existence, so those can return "risky" or "unknown" rather than a definitive answer. Full detail on our How it works page.
Do you send emails to the addresses I check?
No. We only open an SMTP conversation with the mail server to test whether the mailbox exists. No actual email is ever delivered to the address.
Why does a real-looking email show "risky" or "unknown"?
Usually because the domain is catch-all (accepts every address), the mail server greylisted our probe, or a large provider throttled the check. These are honest signals that the mailbox could not be confirmed at that moment, not a definite failure.
What file formats can I upload?
CSV, XLSX and XLS, up to 500 emails per file. Just include a column headed "Email". You can grab a sample CSV or sample Excel to see the format.
Is my data sold or shared?
Never sold. The only third parties involved are the DNS and mail servers we query to verify each address, and RapidAPI if you use the API. See the Privacy Policy and Disclaimer.
Can I use EmailVerify inside my own app?
Yes. The same verification engine is available as a REST API on RapidAPI, returning JSON you can drop into signup forms, CRMs or pipelines.
